FLU PREVENTION CHECKLIST
  1. Get an annual Flu shot - for yourself and your family members
  2. Wash your hands frequently - 20 seconds of hand washing with
    soap and warm water helps remove bacteria and viruses.Wash before and
    after eating, after usingthe bathroom, after coughing or sneezing and
    after touching surfaces that may have been contaminated by other people.
  3.  Cover up when you cough or sneeze - use tissue your arm or sleeve and wash hand as soon as possible.
  4. Keep shared surface area clean and disinfected (counter tops, desktops, phones, etc.)
  5. IF YOU GET SICK STAY HOME!!!! Don't go out until you no longer have a fever and your cough is improving.
PANDEMIC INFLUENZA EMERGENCY SUPPLIES KIT
  • WATER - at least 1 gallon per person, per day (bottled water)
  •  FOOD - Ready-to-eat canned meats, fis, fruits, vegetables, beans, and soup. Examples include:
1.  Protein, granola or fruit bars
2.  Dry cereal or granola
3.  Peanut butter or nuts
4.  Dried fruits
5.  Crackers
6.  Broth
7.  Applesauce
8.  Protein powder
9.  Canned juices
10.  Canned milk
11.   Canned or jarred baby food/formula
  • PET FOOD/SUPPLIES - Don't forget about at least a 2 week supply for your animals as well
  • BABY SUPPLIES- Diapers, wipes, bottles, Diaper Cream and extra toys (Especially, if they have a favorite toy)
  • Paper towels, toilet paper, and facial tissue
  •  Feminine hygiene supplies
  •  DENTAL SUPPLIES - Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss/mouthwash and remember denture supplies for those who have them
  • SURGICAL MASKS
  • MEDICINE CABINET
1. Medication for fevers (acetaminophen, ibuprofen)
2. Aspirin (low-dose)
3. Anti-diarrheal medicine
4. Vitamins
5. Prescription meds - ensure continuous supply
6. Cough suppressants
7. Throat lozenges
8.  Antihistamines
  •  FIRST AID KIT
1. Latex gloves
2. Thermometer
3. Antibiotic ointment
4. Adhesive bandages -different sizes
5. 2 and 4 inch sterile gauze pads
6. Antiseptic
7. Scissors and tweezers
8.  Moistened toweletes
9. 2 and 3 inch sterile rolled bandages
  • BAGS - Garbage, Disposable, Sealable plastic
  • Manual Can opener
  • CLEANING AGENTS - Soap, disinfectant spray, Hand sanitizer (ALCOHOL BASE)
  • FLASHLIGHTS, WITH EXTRA BATTERIES
  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Family documents (I.D., Insurance), Contact
    info for family, neighbors, friends and doctors (include e-mail
    addresses, in case phone lines are down). Extra keys to house and cars.
    Also, all pet information.
